not to get this error?
Windows XP Specific Issues
- I deleted a design with BuzzXplore
and I was told they went to the recycling bin. However,
I couldn't restore the files using Windows Explorer as I usually
do. How can I get my files back?
Cross-Stitch Edition Specific Issues
- When sorting Cross-Stitch files by type
in the Cross-Stitch edition, all PAT files are grouped together
by name (Not PCStitch files together and PatternMaker files together).
Is this supposed to be like this? It looks like it is just
sorting by extension not type.
BuzzXplore will run under Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/XP, needs
a CD-Rom drive; 6 MB disk space; 16 MB RAM; 256 or better display
colors (high color is recommended for the best 3-D rendering);

First try: Please make sure that the BuzzXplore installation
CD is clean. Examine the disc carefully and if necessary
wipe off gently with a clean soft cloth. Make sure that
the original installation CD is in the CD drive the first time
you launch the program. BuzzXplore will check the CD for
valid license during the initial launch. This process can
take up to a minute or two. Please do not touch your keyboard
or computer during this time.
Second Try: If you are still having difficulties, you should
download and install the latest update available from the BuzzXplore
Update Center.
Still have trouble? A very small portion of CDs can be
bad and may need to be replaced. Please contact our technical
support staff for more information. Support

This problem has been reported on some of the newer HP printers
(especially the All-in-One printers) and can occur on any of the
Windows operating systems. User's experiencing this
problem have also reported that they are not able to print correctly
from other applications such as Adobe Acrobat. Often these
problems can be corrected by downloading the most current printer
driver from HP and installing it. Go
to HP Support website.
In addition, Buzz Tools has modified the manner in which we are
communicating to printers. This new version should print
correctly regardless of the printer driver level installed.
We encourage users who are having printing problems to install
the most current version of BuzzXplore which
is available from the BuzzXplore
Update Center. Please note
that this fix does not modify your printer drivers and will not
"break" other printers which are currently printing
correctly.
If you have other applications that are experiencing printing
difficulties, this update will not correct those problems and
you should contact the appropriate vendor or the manufacturer
of your printer for more information.

BuzzXplore 1.00 did not correctly recognize the ZIP processors
in ZIP magic version 4.0. This problem has been fixed in
the latest version of BuzzXplore. You should download and
install the latest update available from the BuzzXplore
Update Center.
Note: This same issue can relate to other new ZIP processors.
If you have this same issue and have a ZIP processor installed,
you can try disabling the ZIP processor to see if the problem
corrects itself. It does, we would appreciate being notified
of the ZIP program you were running so that we can fix the problem.

It probably relates to your printer and the manner in which BuzzXplore
prints. Try using the "Fastest" print option, as this
sends your designs to the printer in a slightly different manner
and usually solves this problem. You'll see this option in
the Print dialog box that comes up after you choose one of the
Print commands from the Buzz Tools menu.
You may also be able to solve the printing color problems by
obtaining and installing the most current printer drivers available
for your printer. Printer drivers are available from the manufacture
of your printer. The fastest option is very close in quality though,
and you may find it an acceptable option.

This can be fixed by downloading and installing the newest HP
Printer Driver for your specific printer. The HP Technical support

This message indicates that the card data contained in the file
does not match the information in the header. This can be caused
by a header that is missing or the card data that extends beyond
the coordinates of the design as specified in the header. If you
always bring your designs into Layout & Editing to write to
an embroidery card, you will probably never see any stitching
problems with these files as Layout & Editing corrects them.
If you write to a card via the File Utility, you could have problems
with outlines matching up or sections of the design stitching
in incorrect locations.
To correct the problem with the files, just select BuzzTools>Embroidery
Tools > PES Fix Card Data. BuzzXplore
will examine each of your designs and if it suspects there is
a problem with the file, it will fix it for you.
If you are converting these designs to another file format, you
do not need to be concerned about this error flag. BuzzXplore
will correctly convert these designs for you.

Several file types, for example DST and EXP files, do not contain
any color information in them. They do have color breaks, i.e.
markers in the file to let the machines know to stop sewing but
no color values. A few programs save color
information for DST and EXP files in an auxiliary file.
If BuzzXplore can locate the auxiliary color file for a DST or
EXP file, it displays the colors correctly.
When there is no auxiliary color file, BuzzXplore
does not know what colors the digitizer intended for the color
breaks and the color stops are assigned a color value so
that you can get an idea of what the design will look like. DST
and EXP files displayed in this manner are
shown with an arbitrary color sequence. A line is displayed
for each color stop rather than a color value so you can write
in your color choices on a printed catalog if you like.
When EXP or DST designs are converted
to another file format that requires the color value, BuzzXplore
uses the auxiliary colors file if it is available.
If the design does not have an auxiliary color file, BuzzXplore
does not know what color the digitizer intended for the
color breaks. Should color break one be green (for a tree) or
blue (for sky). Therefore, when these files
are converted, BuzzXplore assigns
its color choices to the file. These of course, do not relate
to an actual color value but represent the color break present
in the original file.

BuzzXplore 1.01 did not correctly recognize that some Windows
operating systems contain their own ZIP processors which is causing
the display problem. This problem has been fixed in the latest
version of BuzzXplore. You should download and install the
latest update available from the BuzzXplore
Update Center.

- Turn your computer off
and wait a minute or so to clear the memory buffers.
- Turn the computer back
on and allow it to boot up completely. NOTE: Windows XP
users, you must logon as an Admin
User.
- Close any memory resident
programs that are running in the background like virus checkers
or disk managers. Usually, icons for memory
resident programs are located in the lower right corner of your
Windows Desktop by the system clock. You can often close
these programs by right clicking on the icon and choosing an
option such as Close or Exit from the list.
- Run the update and follow
the onscreen instructions.
If you still
receive the error, please do the following:
- Go
the BuzzXplore
Update Center and
click the link to the desired update version.
- The next screen
asks you if you are going to install the update on a computer
with or without internet access. Choose the option "BuzzXplore
is installed on another computer that does NOT have Internet
access" even if this is not the case.
- Scroll
down to Option Two and download the zipped version of
the update. Unzip this file and run the setup.exe file that
is located in the Disk 1 folder. Alternately,
you can follow the instructions on the web page and install
the update using floppy diskettes.

Don't worry. Your designs are in the Windows Recycling bin
and you can still get them back. In order to restore your
deleted files, you will need to use the recycling bin and not
Windows Explorer. Double-click on the Recycling Bin icon
located on your Windows desktop. Click on a file using your
alternate mouse button (usually the right button) and choose Restore
from the pop-up menu. The file is returned to its original location.
Note: If you delete a design contained within
a ZIP archive file (or a compressed folder) the design will be
permanently deleted.

If you would like to uninstall Buzz Tools plus, that is up to
you. It is not used by BuzzXplore Embroidery
Upgrade after the initial installation. Uninstall instructions
are listed in your Buzz Tools plus AND BuzzXplore manuals. (Start
> Control Panel > Add/Remove programs).
However, if you need to reinstall BuzzXplore
Embroidery Upgrade in the future, you will need to install
Buzz Tools plus first. You may want to store the original installation
disks for Buzz Tools plus and BuzzXplore together with their serial
numbers in case you need them in the future.

You are probably running a very early
version of Windows 95 that does not include Internet Explorer
4 or you uninstalled Internet Explorer from your machine. You
can solve your problem by installing Internet Explorer version
4 or later. If you don't already have the required update,
you might be able to locate it from the Microsoft downloads webpage
located at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?

BuzzXplore sorts file types based on the file
types registered with Windows Explorer. Since Windows Explorer
file types are based on files extensions, your PAT files will
be grouped together by file name. We will consider modifying
the way this is handled if enough users need the sort to perform
differently.
