Question / Issue
BuzzBox Error - There is a problem communicating with the Box

Answer / Solution

Here is some information to help you resolve the communication issue with your BuzzBox.

TRY FIRST:

Try to plug the BuzzBox into each USB port on your Windows computer.  See if any of them work.

IF THAT FAILS:

Follow the instructions here to update the BuzzBox driver

http://www.buzztools.com/updates/bb2-driver.html

IF IT STILL DOESN'T WORK:

Your USB ports may not be supplying enough power for the BuzzBox. We have started to see this issue with several Window 7 and later computers (both laptops and desktops). If this is your problem, you can easily fix it by following the instructions below:

Disable power management of the USB hub. To disable the power management on the USB hub, follow these steps:

1.     Click Start, and then click Run.

2.     Type devmgmt.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.

3.     Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers' node, and then follow these steps for each USB Root Hub that is listed:

·         Right-click the USB Root Hub and then click Properties.

·         Click the Power Management tab.

·         Click to clear the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” check box, and then click OK.

Note: If you perform the following procedure on a laptop computer, you may reduce the battery life.

If you still have a problem after trying all of these suggestions, you may have a defective BuzzBox. Please contact our support staff using the email link at the top of the page for more information on your BuzzBox warrantee.
